Mushfiqur Rahim hurt his right shoulder during a training session with his Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League side Prime Doleshwar Sporting Club, in Mirpur on Thursday.
According to the club coach Mizanur Rahman, Mushfiqur had an awkward fall on his shoulder while playing football during warm-up. Mushfiqur had sustained an injury on this shoulder early last year.
The BCB's senior physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury said that the injury didn't seem too alarming, but they will conduct a scan on Saturday.
"He had a problem in his shoulder," Debashish told reporters. "At times his shoulder gets a jolt when he dives but never got dislocated. The same has happened today. We will conduct a scan on Saturday. After which, we will understand how serious the injury is. But I have seen what has happened, and it didn't seem too serious. There's nothing to worry. It might take him a week to recover."
Mizanur said that Mushfiqur is unlikely to play Prime Doleshwar's Super League match against Legends of Rupganj on Saturday. "We will take the decision on Friday morning after we assess his injury," Mizanur said.
