Aussie Ian Harvey in all round display hit a swashbuckling 66 of 35 balls and then came back to take 4 for 26 in 9 overs to help Gloucestershire defeat Leicestershire by 47 runs at Bristol in a day night showdown.
Gloucestershire are now third in the table with 30 points and are hoping for a clean sweep of one day trophies this season. Just two points separate them and the current leaders Yorkshire. But Leicestershire with 22 points are just above Lancashire who are the bottom of the table. Leicestershire have three more matches to pull themselves off the relegation.
Matthew Hoggard celebrated his call to play for England with a haul of 5 for 30 along with Darren Gough (3 for 19) to help Yorkshire Phoenix dismiss Northamptonshire Steelbacks for 109 off 37.3 overs at Wantage Road.
In reply, Yorkshire made the required runs in 30.3 overs losing just four wickets in the process. A 54 run third wicket partnership between Darren Lehmann (37) and Anthony McGrath (36 not out) put an end to Northamptonshire's run of seven successive wins.
Michael Bevan hit an unbeaten 85 from 82 balls while captain Chris Adams scored 68 to take Sussex Sharks overwhelm Somerset Sabres at Hove. In a thrilling encounter, Sussex chasing a target of 213, hit the winning run off the last ball of the match with six wickets in hand. For Somerset skipper Jamie Cox scored 49 of 69 balls and helped their side to reach 212 for 8 in 45 overs.
Nottinghamshire Outlaws lost to Middlesex Crusaders by 23 runs in a rain curtailed match at Richmond in the Division Two championship. Middlesex made 148 for 3 in 21 overs while Nottinghamshire could muster only 125 for 7 in 21 overs. For Middlesex, a blistering innings from Mark Ramprakash who made 53 of 31 balls (4x4) and 2 sixes while Richard Johnson took 3 for 26 in 5 overs to help their side overcome Notinganshire.
