Twose, brought in to replace Bell, reasserted his case for regular inclusion with a solid 78, but Pollock and Donald, with seven wickets between them, held the New Zealanders to 220. Allott took two wickets during an aggressive opening spell, but Kirsten and Kallis put on 103 before Cronje brought the game to a swift conclusion with 74 from 69 balls. In one nine-ball phase, he hit Larsen and Vettori for three sixes and three fours, enough for both to be taken out of the attack.
