Nigeria: GCI leads the field in Lagos Cricket League

GCI is still in the driving seat followed closely by FCC2 after both secured victories over Rocks and FCC1 (the champions) last weekend.
FCC1 and Cosmo follow in third and fourth places and qualification for the next phase of the league. The Super Four seems to be shaping up - any four of the following five clubs are still in with a good chance of qualifying - GCI, FCC2, FCC1, Cosmo and KC.
As to be expected newcomers to the league this season, Howzat Dolphins and Federal Govt College Warri Old Boys(FGC) are finding it tough at the foot of the table.
In terms of individual performances, the following have made a mark in batting Dolapo Gaffar (FCC1) with scores of 71 and 79 against FGC and FCC2 respectively. Tunde Adeoye and Kwesi Sagoe both of FCC2 have made scores of 53 and 52* against Cosmo and FCC1 respectively whilst Edebiri of Cosmo, Charles Okodua of GCI and Tamuno of Howzat Pioneers have also recorded half century scores of 57, 50 and 66 against FCC2, Howzat Pioneers and Dyaks respectively.
Young Joshua Ogunlola of FCC2 who just missed making the U-19 squad that participated in Uganda is the leading wicket-taker so far with 10 wickets for 145 runs from 29 overs bowled at a relatively expensive average of 14.50 runs per wicket. He is followed by the GCI opening pair of Dapo Adegoke and Tayo Okusanya with 7 wickets apiece from 22 overs bowled. While Adegoke has conceded 69 runs in his spells, Okusanya has conceded 60 earning them averages of 9.85 and 8.57 respectively.
The following have each taken a total of 6 wickets; Tony Ovie-Whiskey(KC), Thomas Ezeh(FCC1) and Anofiu Salako(FCC2) for 15, 48 and 75 runs respectively having bowled 8, 12 and 21 overs each with averages of 2.5, 8.0 and 12.5 respectively.
In terms of wicket hauls in individual matches, Tony Ovie-Whiskey(KC) took 6 against FGC whilst Thomas Ezeh (FCC1) and Okwudili (Howzat Dolphins) took 5 against FGC and Rocks respectively.
Bowlers with a 4-wicket haul in a match are Joshua Ogunlola (FCC2) against Cosmo and Dyaks; Dapo Adegoke (GCI) against Howzat Pioneers; Okon Ukpong (GCI) against Rocks and Kuforiji (Rocks) against Howzat Dolphins.
