Lahore, Sept 11: Nineteen probables attended the first day of the
national cricket training camp which started at the Qadhafi Stadium
for finalization of Pakistan team for the ICC trophy.
In all, 22 probables were called for the camp training last week, but
the numbers have been increased to 24, as the Pakistan Cricket Board
has summoned Bazid Khan and Shafiq Ahmad for the camp on Monday.
Shafiq Ahmad attended the morning session while Bazid Khan is not
available in the country.
Others who could not reach here to join the camp are off-spinner
Saqlain Mushtaq, paceman Mohammad Akram and Hamayoun Farhat, due to
their county engagements in England.
The camp-commandant Javed Miandad said that the physical exercises and
fielding practice would be held in the morning session starting from
7am. The net practice, he added would be held in the afternoon session
which will start from 3pm.
Captain Moin Khan who missed the triangular tournament in Singapore
last month, due to his knee problems, said that he was fit for the
game and fully took part in the camp training.
Moin Khan said that the ICC knock out tournament was a tough
competition as all the matches were like a final.
Wasim Akram said that he would play in both the Test and one-day
competitions as he felt quite fit for the game.
Wasim Akram said that he had informed the PCB about his availability
for the Kenya contest and the home series against England as well.

Moin Khan, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Saeed Anwar, Imran Nazir, Salim Elahi,
Younis Khan, Yousuf Youhana, Ijaz Ahmad, Faisal Iqbal, Imran Abbas,
Waqar Younis, Kabir Khan, Wasim Akram, Azhar Mahmood, Abdur Razzaq,
Shoaib Malik, Mushtaq Ahmad, Danish Kaneria and Arshad Khan.
