Efforts to unify women's cricket in Pakistan appeared to have failed yet again, according to a report appearing in "The News" (Karachi) on Friday.
A meeting arranged by the Pakistan Cricket Board between the three factions all claiming to run the women's game in Pakistan ended during the week without an outcome. PCB general manager of operations Zakir Khan presided over the two-and-a-half hour meeting with representatives of the three women's associations, Sharmeen Khan, Tahira Hameed and Shireen Hameed.
All three associations rejected the PCB's offer to establish a unified body which would then affiliate with the men's board and seek regular membership from the International Women's Cricket Council, each party preferring instead to assert its own position.
