Hi Hampshire, Paul Terry here,

The web master asked me for a half term report so, as requested here is a brief run down on how the Hampshire boys are going. At present I am looking after Iain Brunschweiller, Irfan Shah and James Schofield. James Hamblin joins us after the Christmas break.

All are training very hard. They have a pretty intense fitness program which includes weights as well as swimming, boxing circuits, beach runs and a number of other fitness disciplines they have to do.

All have been working with me on there batting prowess and the bowlers have regular sessions with their respective coaches, Bruce Reid for the quicks and A former Western Warrior, Brett Mulder has been working with Irfan. Schowey unfortunately has discovered a slight stress fracture in his back which he has been troubled by since he got here so has not been able to work much on his bowling skills.

Brunchy has been going okay with his club side although he has yet to post a big score. Lots of starts so he hopefully will turn the corner with that in the new year. Feedback on his wicket keeping is very good.

Irfan has been scoring a few runs for his club side and entertaining with his strokeplay. His bowling is coming along really well. The month of Ramadan with all the training has really tested him but he has come through that with flying colours. He loves the training especially the fitness side of it!!

Schowey has been playing in a struggling side but there is always a positive. He gets to bat twice most games!! He has been getting 20-30 most times he bats so there are signs of improvement.

We now await the arrival over of Hamblin although he too is recovering from injury.

That in a very brief word is how they are going. Sometimes judging form can be quite difficult over here as they play so little but I have been very impressed as to how they have all applied themselves to the differing disciplines they have been given. Hopefully you will all see a marked difference when they return home in March.
