Ranjan stars in Bihar's victory

A fine 134 by N.Ranjan featured Bihar's easy 94 run victory over Tripura in the East Zone Ranji Trophy one day match at the MBB stadium, Tripura on Thursday.

Put in to bat, Bihar made 274 for two off 50 overs. Openers Zeeshan Ali and Ranjan put on 179 runs in 39.2 overs. Zeeshan was out for 71 for which he faced 109 balls and hit three fours. Ranjan and Rajib Kumar then hit out while adding 50 runs for the second wicket in just 5.2 overs before Ranjan was out. He faced 150 balls and hit 15 boundaries. Rajib Kumar and S.Kumar then flogged the Tripura attack in adding 45 runs off 5.2 overs during an unbroken third wicket partnership.

Tripura were never in with a chance of scoring the required runs and it was only an unbroken eighth wicket partnership of 75 runs off 16 overs between S. Roy (45) and Aditya Shukla (30) that enabled them to reach 180 for 7 in 50 overs.
