Rare tons by SA captains, and Duminy's slow starts

22 Number of centuries Hashim Amla has scored in Tests. With his unbeaten ton on Saturday, Amla pipped Gary Kirsten to third place in the list of South Africa batsmen with most Test centuries. Jacques Kallis leads the list with 45 hundreds, followed by Graeme Smith, who finished with 27.

Since balls-faced information has been made available, this was the sixth-longest innings in terms of deliveries faced by an overseas batsman in Sri Lanka. Stephen Fleming's 476-ball 274 at the P Sara Oval is the longest innings played by an overseas batsman in Sri Lanka.
