South Africa v New Zealand, Champions Trophy, Group B, Centurion

24-Sep-2009
South Africa allowed New Zealand just 72 runs between the 15th and 35th overs. In that span, the spinners conceded just three boundaries, two in consecutive balls by Johan Botha.
Ross Taylor threatened to tee off when Wayne Parnell returned, but the bowler had the final say with three wickets during the batting Powerplay. He was rewarded for keeping the ball full and New Zealand lost their last five wickets for 11 runs in 18 balls.
At 138 for 4 the wobble was on. Until this time singles had come without bother, so vital to South Africa's progress but sporadically, to give the fans something to purr about, AB de Villiers found the boundary. One over given to Martin Guptill proved an error as de Villiers hammered consecutive boundaries.
