University of Moratuwa to tour India

The cricket team of University of Moratuwa will leave to India on
Tuesday, 17th November 1998 on a short tour.
They will play matches with the University of Bangalore and the
Karavali Cricket Academy. The team consists of 18 players and four
officials.
The team will be led by Kosala Wickramasinghe and Iranga Jayawickrama
as his deputy.
Rain - no play on second day

The Coca-Cola Bottlers Trophy schools cricket tournament match
between Kingswood College and Vidyartha College was abandoned without
a ball being bowled on the second day due to heavy overnight rain at
Police grounds, Kandy yesterday.
At close on the first day, Vidyartha were well placed having scored
273 for 8 declared and had their opponents reeling at 32 for 3 but
rain and wet ground conditions did not help them to make any headway
in the game on the second day.
Cambrians 260/6

Prince of Wales made 260 for 6 wickets in a rain-shortened day one of
their inter-school cricket match against Dharmasoka College,
Ambalangoda at Moratuwa yesterday.
There was only 230 minutes play because of rain.
The match will be continued today at 10 a.m.

Prince of Wales 260 for 6 wkts at close (Shammika Fernando 70, Janaka
Wannakuwatte 55, Janaka Gunaratne 33, Pubudu Ranaweera 30, Rashan
Peiris 20, Eranga Mendis 3 for 48).
St. Peter's get 10-wkt win
St. Peter's trounced Dharmapala by 10 wickets with the game ending
before the tea break in their schools cricket match at Bambalapitiya
yesterday. Dharmapala were shot out for 82 in their second turn
leaving the Peterites to score 30 runs to win.
Dharmapala made 111 in their first innings with the Peterites in
reply declaring at 164 for 2.

Dharmapala 111 and 82 (A. Samsudeen 2 for 14, K. Lokuaratchi 2 for
24, D. Rupasinghe 2 for 7, N. de Silva 2 for 8).
