Match Abandoned

Heavy rain dashed all hopes of Vidyartha College, Kandy capitalising
on their magnificent first day's performance in their Coca Cola
Bottlers Trophy cricket tournament match against Trinity College
which was abandoned as a draw at Police grounds, Kandy yesterday.
Vidyartha with a good bowling side had a first innings lead of 51
runs with two wickets infact when play was stopped on the first day.
It was only the earlier week that Vidyartha dismissed the strong
Antonian batting line up for only 130 runs.
Doctor to Bangladesh
Dr. Seevali Jayawickrema from the Sports Medicine Unit has proceeded
to Bangladesh and will submit a report on the health hazards if any,
to the BCCSL. This is a precaution, prior to the Sri Lankan team
leaving to Bangladesh to participate in the Mini World Cup scheduled
for October - November 1998.
