The Star Club of India, which first gave experience of British conditions to Test stars such as Sachin Tendulkar, Saurav Ganguly and Rahul Dravid, arrives in Scotland on Sunday afternoon (June 13) for a four-match visit.
The U19 select side started touring in 1987, and has built up a
formidable reputation for high quality performance under Kailash Gattani, the manager and a former Aberdeenshire professional. This year's squad of 14 players, aged 15 to 19, includes one 16-year-old from Mumbai, Sarvesh Damle, who scored a triple-century in the prestigious Harris Shield inter-school tournament last year.
The itinerary for the series one-day matches is as follows:
14 June v East District Development XI at Myreside (Watsonians CC, start 1pm)
15 June v West District Development XI at Shawholm (Poloc CC, start 11am)
16 June v Scotland A at Titwood (Clydesdale CC, start 11am)
17 June v Scotland A at Hamilton Crescent (West of Scotland CC, start 11am)
