Sunil Dutt, the former film star and current minister for sports and youth affairs, has died of a heart attack at his home in Juhu, in north-west Mumbai. He was 75.
Dutt had been in the public eye for the last five decades, including forty years as a star actor. Last year, he was appointed as the minister of sport and youth affairs in the Congress-led Indian government and represented Mumbai in parliament.
He was recently conferred the honorary life membership of the Cricket Club of India (CCI) and also regularly voiced his opinions regarding the administration of cricket in the country.
