Sri Lanka have appointed Michael Tissera for a two-year term as Sri Lanka team manager. Tissera, a former player and a well-respected administrator, takes over immediately from Brendon Kuruppu who managed the team for two tours to Pakistan and New Zealand.
The new interim committee have also appointed Anura Tennekoon, another highly respected former player and administrator, as a fulltime A team manager for a similar two-year term. It is the first time that Sri Lanka has appointed a fulltime A team manager.
Tissera and Tennekoon's appointments are the first major cricket decision taken by the new interim committee which is also seeking to employ a new coach as soon as India choose theirs, probably in June after interviews this week. Tom Moody and Greg Chappell are the clear frontrunners for the job.
