The MCC tour of Uganda got off to a good start with back-to-back wins over Uganda A and Uganda Under-19s before they suffered a defeat against the full national side.
The opening game against Uganda A resulted in a comprehensive 85-run win as the home side were bowled out for 117 in reply to MCC's 202 for 9. Danniel Ruyange starred for the Ugandans with 4 for 18 from his 10 overs.
A second victory followed in the two-day game against Uganda U-19s. The home side got off to great start after putting MCC in, bowling them out for 98 on the first morning. However, they in turn only made 97 with David Harrison taking 7 for 22, and then second time round James Beeny (100*) and Mark Wagh (83) enabled MCC to declare on 252 for 9. Set 254 to win, Uganda made 145, Jamie Dalrymple doing the damage with 5 for 33.
In the third game, against the full national side, MCC made 173, but aided by 45 extras, Uganda eased to a three-wicket victory with nine balls to spare.
