Karachi, Sept 18: Yousuf Youhana struck an unbeaten 104 off
114 deliveries to help Pakistan reach 222 for five in the
second encounter of the Toronto Cricket Festival at the
Cricket, Skating and Curling Club in Toronto on Saturday.
Youhana and all-rounder Abdur Razzaq were involved in a
partnership of 149 for the fifth wicket in 27.4 overs after
Pakistan had slumped to 68 for four in the 22nd over.
Razzaq hit 55 off 71 balls with two fours and a six before
he was run out in the last over of the innings by a direct
throw by Jimmy Adams from long-off as he went for an
impossible second run which would have completed Youhana's
second century in One-day Internationals.
Youhana ultimately reached his century when pulled the very
next ball off Courtney Walsh's final over to the deep
square-leg boundary for his 13th four.
Pakistan scored as many as 122 runs in the last 14 overs of
the innings. Earlier, after electing to bat first, Pakistan
made a bad start as they lost Saeed Anwar in the fifth over
to off-spinner Chris Gayle, who opened the bowling.
Wajahatullah Wasti was bowled by Hendy Bryan for 14,
Inzamam-ul-Haq (14) was brilliantly held low to his right by
wicket-keeper Ridley Jacobs off Mervyn Dillon with the score
on 46. Aamir Sohail spanked three fours in making 21 off 26
balls until he top-edged a pull off Dillon and was caught at
square leg by Adams. Pakistan won the first match on
Thursday by 15 runs.
