full and on off, Malik drops to one knee and smashes it over wide long-on to seal the win with a brace of sixes. Karachi captain Malik had set it up nicely for his team as well, removing Gayle in his first over
Qalandars vs Kings, 2nd Match at Dubai, Feb 05 2016 - Match Result
Kings won by 7 wickets (with 25 balls remaining)
6:30pm: The second match of the PSL more or less followed the same script as the first. The bowlers, led by Amir, who claimed a hat-trick, exploited the surface efficiently before the chase was aced. If Wright led the charge yesterday, today was Simmons' turn. He made a busy fifty, as did Shakib in a century stand, which formed the cornerstone of the 126 chase. Eventually, Karachi, aided by Lahore's sloppy fielding, won by seven wickets in 15.5 overs.
Simmons is the Man of the Match. Oh wait, Ramiz Raja has fumbled; he does a Steve Harvey. He calls it a 'typo'
Shakib is the Man of the Match
Shakib: It is a 150 wicket. Credit to our bowlers. We were excellent in the field. We are gelling together though we have not spent much time together. We have an allround team. The way be batted, if we continue like this, we will have a good tournament.
Azhar Ali: They [Karachi] played really well and they deserved to win. Yes, it was a 15-160 pitch. We lost wickets at regular intervals. There is a lot of things to learn. We will come hard tomorrow.
Shoaib Malik: It was our first game and we wanted to win. The noises from the crowd: 'Karachi' 'Karachi' 'Karachi' gave us a lot of confidence. We knew the conditions suit to spinners and allrounders. We have put up a great show and we want to see consistency from the bowlers. PSL is all about helping youngsters and bringing Pakistan cricket up.
Simmons: I hope we can carry the momentum forward. We have a match tomorrow. I thought it was a low total. I did not go for the big shots early, I had to assess the pitch.
That is all we have for you from this game. Do tune in for the second match of the day, where starman Afridi will be in action. Speaking of which, the biggest roar was reserved for him during the opening ceremony. Ta ra!
