Warner, Ferguson thump Zimbabwe

Australia A 427 for 4 (Ferguson 156*, Warner 152) v Zimbabwe XI

Australia A piled on the runs against Zimbabwe XI on day one of the two-day tour match in Kwekwe, going to stumps on 427 for 4.

Australia, who chose to bat, were powered early on by a hard-hitting century from opener David Warner. Warner made 152 off 141 balls, with 21 fours and four sixes, before falling to the legspin of Natsai Mushangwe. His powerful knock was then backed up by a solid hundred from No. 4 batsman, Callum Ferguson.

Ferguson - who ended the day on 156 not out - cemented Australia's strong position in the game with a 146-run stand for the fourth wicket with Aaron Finch, who scored a fluent 63.

The tour game will be followed by two first-class, four-day matches in Harare, starting July 15.
