6.2 to SD Hope, Oh Shai... what was that?! Mahmood digs one short outside off, Hope pulls, skying to Carse at deep fine leg. Delight for Mahmood, who points at someone enthusiastically to suggest that was all part of the plan. And you know what, given that's the second time Hope has been done on the short ball, maybe it was.... 28/3 38.4 to AS Joseph, top-edged and taken at short third! Pace off from Mahmood finally does the trick for England. Buttler was trying to get there but Potts circled around to take it safely. Still, a fine innings from the No. 9. 245/8

3.5 to E Lewis, He's not played that well, mind! Carse gets the length right, Lewis decides to carve it through square leg, but it's straighter and not as short as the pull shot in the previous over, well-taken by Smith jumping to his right at that forward square leg position. 20/1 27.2 to SE Rutherford, Brilliant from Brook! Carse digs it in again, Rutherford goes to pull again, but he's beaten for pace as that cross-seam delivery slides on upon pitching, toeing to the right of mid on. Brook puts in a full-length dive to take that a couple of feet above the ground. 154/7
8 | 0 | 51 | 2 | 6.37 | 25 | 6 | 1 | 1 | 0 | |
5.6 to BA King, Live by the drive, die by the drive! Potts bowls full once more, but not as full as King thinks, meaning he reaches for the shot and skews to Bethell at point. 27/2 39.6 to G Motie, bowled 'im! Potts finishes things with a crafty slowie, back of the hand and right down at 69mph. Motie is through the shot early and hears the death rattle - but again, a fine knock from the lower-order man. 251/9

17.2 to KU Carty, Played on! Slowed down - 43mph! - and properly tossed up full... Carty's eyes light up for a smash through cover but ends up dragging the ball onto his own stumps! Rashid's too embarrassed to celebrate.... 90/4 21.2 to JP Greaves, Outstanding take from Duckett! He dropped two chances at second slip on Sunday, but he's taken a tough flat one to his left at midwicket, as Greaves' attempt to smear Rashid through the leg side from outside off brings about his downfall. 121/5 21.3 to RL Chase, Another Golden Duck for Roston Chase! Decent length, bit of bounce and turn that Chase decided to feel for, edging to Root, who takes two attempts to take what is otherwise a simple catch. Two first ball dismissals in a row for Chase, and Rashid is on a hat-trick.... 121/6

24.4 to JE Root, top-edged and taken, Root falls! Superbly held by Shamar Joseph running up from fine leg, a full-length diving effort that should earn him a bum pat from his namesake. Reward for Alzarri, but probably too little, too late for West Indies. 200/3

6.6 to JL Smith, Bowled him! Smith goes, aiming for five boundaries in a row. Motie into the base of off stump. A dropped catch to start, a broken off stump to finish - and 20 runs in between!. 93/1

15.6 to BM Duckett, gone - flayed straight to cover! Duckett all of a sudden loses patience after being tied down for four balls, tries to go over the infield but can't get the elevation required. Lewis looks a little surprised to see the ball coming straight at him, but clutches it gratefully to his midriff. A glimmer for West Indies?. 155/2 |
