what a farcical way to finish...Edwards swings over James Anderson at midwicket, completes one and begins to race back for a second, but Chanderpaul doesn't want it and Edwards has no chance of getting back as Collingwood collects the throw and breaks the stumps.
England vs West Indies, 1st ODI at London, Jul 01 2007 - Ball by Ball Commentary
An apt way to end another poor batting effort from West Indies as England take a 1-0 series lead with a 79-run win. It was a fine all-round bowling display, led by Anderson, Plunkett and Broad, backed up by some fine fielding. The batting was less convincing, but in the end they had more than enough. For West Indies it was another tough day with only Fidel Edwards and Shivnarine Chanderpaul able to hold their heads high.
The series now moves to Edgbaston, in Birmingham, on Wednesday and we'll bring you all the action from there. Until then it's goodbye from Andrew McGlashan and Andrew Miller. Thanks for following the match with us. Goodnight.

driven to long off and eventually the single is turned down
worked past square leg so Chanderpaul gets the strike back
the field came up and Chanderpaul heaves past mid on to reach his fifty off 95 deliveries as his prolific tour continues...it's just a shame about his team-mates
turned to midwicket, five dot balls so far
bobbles into the leg side, but not doing much for West Indies' score
comes forward and defends carefully
whipped to midwicket, can't find the gap
cut hard to backward point
left outside off stump
worked to square leg, Edwards sets off but there isn't one on offer
well bowled, in the channel and Edwards just about pulls his bat inside the line
two slips for Edwards as Collingwood goes on the attack
