A NRR-boosting win sees Giants move up to No. 2 on the points table. Another exciting contest coming up tomorrow - DC taking on RCB. Do join us for that game. Thanks for your company, that's all we have from Vadodara tonight. On behalf of Venkat and Srinidhi, this is Sudarshanan bidding you goodbye. Ciao, folks!

10:50pm A first win for Giants while chasing in the WPL, coming on their fourth attempt. Superb bowling show from them and a clinical chase to back it up. Gardner led the way with a fantastic fifty. Dottin followed it with a stellar cameo. Deol giving her good support. And this Giants batting order looking dangerous this season. Their bowling came good today, thanks to Mishra. Once Warriorz were kept to the early 140s, it was always going to be tough for them. Giants showed why. A few hiccups but nothing major to prevent them from getting two points

Deepti Sharma, UPW captain: "The way the track played, as a batting unit, we should have stepped up more. In the middle if we could have add a short partnership, we could have got to 170-180. We have the bowling strength, and as a bowling unit we have done well. There was dew, and the way the track played, the bowlers did well. As a batting unit as well as some balls we could not execute as per our field. If we can execute that, it will be good."

Deandra Dottin: "[On Navgire's wicket] I remembered the final of the Women's T20 Challenge and how I bowled at her. I came here and executed. Felt they were 20-30 runs short, so we were confident to chase the 140-odd they gave us. To be honest, I was looking to finish it. It was a matter of watching the ball and hitting it hard. I was actually a missing piece for the WPL as a whole. Always good to be part of the women's IPL and do the job for GG. This year I am trying to be more consistent and perform. I don't think we were nervy. Our captain Ash was in form. They assessing the pitch early and we were not under pressure. It was a matter of putting pressure on the UP Warriorz."

Ashleigh Gardner, GG captain and the Player of the Match: "Very pleased. Weren't that far off the other game. To come out and play the brand of cricket we spoke of, feels special. There's always things to improve on. Our bowlers did a fantastic job. Priya Mishra, to pick up three wickets at this stage, makes captaincy easy. I feel like I probably missed a little bit in these two games. I also bowled a bit quick, so it runs away on these fields. Everyone's got their own method to batting. Dottin clears her front leg and whacks big sixes. Harleen is methodical and waits for the ball to come to her. I am in between. Mooney and Wolvaardt set the platform for me to come in."

Sharma to Deol, 1 run

There it is! Giants open their account in WPL 2025 and the way the winning run comes sums up the kind of night for Warriors. Shortish and spinning in, she pulls it to square leg, who misfields and lets a single. A commanding six-wicket win for Giants!

Sharma to Deol, no run

Lands it on a length outside off, she comes down and punches it back

Sharma to Deol, FOUR runs

Superb use of the feet. Tossed up wide outside off, Deol charges down and goes inside out through extra cover. Too much to do for long-off

Sharma to Dottin, 1 run

Around the wicket, darts it on a length, 85.7kph, drilled to long-on

17.2

Sharma to Dottin, SIX runs

Dashes at the bowler and thumps it straight over, again! Deepti's flight is only an invitation and Dottin gleefully accepts it. She wants to finish this fast

Full on leg, clipped to midwicket. Seven runs and a possible chance from this Goud over

Goud to Dottin, 1 run

That is high in the night sky.... and DEEPTI DROPS IT! The camera pans to Jon Lewis, who cuts a sorry figure. Smart bowling from Goud, who bowls the offcutter on a length outside off. Dottin once again clears the front leg and swings hard and gets a top edge. If only cover, after running to her right held it...

Goud to Dottin, FOUR runs

Down the ground, powered away! This is full and in the slot for Dottin, who clears her front leg and rockets it back over the bowler's head. Bounced just inside

16.3
Goud to Dottin, no run

Outside off on a length, 103.9kph, driven on the up to cover. Good start from Goud so far

Poor work from Navgire, who lets this through her legs at short fine leg. Length ball on leg, Deol just tucks it fine

Sharma to Dottin, 1 run

Wrong end, and Deol survives Dottin gets a thick outside edge towards backward point. Sehrawat runs to her right, sees Dottin is struggling and fires it to the bowler. Deol also stopped in the middle and could have been in trouble had the throw been to the keeper

15.2
Sharma to Dottin, no run

Tossed up outside off, Dottin looks to go downtown. Misses and so does Chetry. Was that another edge? It was the cross-seam full ball outside off

Thumped back down the ground! Tossed up around middle, Deol charges down the track and drives it on the up, not too far to the left of Ecclestone. She fails to get a hand to it and it is too straight for long-off
