Once again Stafford hosted the much loved cricket match between its "barmy-army" tourists and the "barmy-army" tourists from the rest of Britain.
The tourist side also had Steve Power playing who travelled over from Munich for the game!!
The weather was once again kind to us all and the turnout to support the game was superb, it is a real credit to Stafford C.C. that everyone enjoys the hospitality there and is made to feel welcome.
Stafford once again batted first and amassed a creditable total of 223 in there alloted 35 overs. Top scorer for them was Pies who again notched a half century before retiring.

Dougie was in fine form behind the stumps again, stopping the ball with everything except his hands!!!
After a very long and alcohol filled tea break, the tourists managed to score 200 in reply and had good contributions from "jenko" and "gooders" who scored well.
Taking the bowling honours were Pies who took 6 wickets for only 2 runs , Chas who snapped un 3 wickets and "Spurt" Reynolds who bowled with control and didn't show any signs of being 50 years of age!!
The major factor of the day though was that £2,352.00 was raised for Leukaemia Research. A massive increase on the £756 we raised last year.
This was raised mainly by players sponsorship, fines and an excellent auction of items kindly donated.

Man of the Match was "GINGER" Tony Farrell. Not for his on the field performance, but his brilliant humour on the microphone and PA system.
The game will be played again next year and ALL members of the BA are welcome.
We will be looking to add to the amount raised this year and it will be advertised on the BA website next year.
We are aiming to play the game on the 6th August 2004.
