Africa secure three Global Development Awards

The ICC today announced the Winners of the Global Development Awards.
Uganda Cricket Association, Tanzania Cricket Association and the Namibian Cricket Board held the African flag high as they secured three of the nine Global awards on offer.
ICC Regional Development Manager - Africa, Hoosain Ayob said: "I am filled with immense pride by the recognition given to the efforts and success of the Development Program in Africa. I am humbled to note that in the important spheres of Overall Development Program, Women's Cricket Initiative and UNAIDS Award, Africa was honoured."
The importance of these awards cannot be overemphasised.

- Best Junior Cricket Initiative - PNG Cricket Board
- Best Women's Cricket Initiative - Tanzanian Cricket Association
- Best Cricket Promotional Program - Cricket Scotland
- Best Spirit of Cricket Initiative - Asian Cricket Sixes Tour - Phuket Thailand
- Photo of the Year - China Cricket Association
- UNAIDS Award - Namibia Cricket Board
- Volunteer of the Year - Richard Illingworth, Costa Rica
- Lifetime Service Award - Harjit Singh, Malaysia and Norma Whitehorn, former IWCC President
All the winners will be receiving prizes which will be awarded at the ACA Annual General Meeting in April 2006.
