Atherton to miss Sharjah due to back trouble

LAHORE, March 31: Michael Atherton will be missing both the Sharjah Cup and the World Cup Cricket Tournaments due to recurrence of back trouble. The sad, former England team captain is flying back to Manchester on Thursday.

Michael Atherton came to Pakistan with the England cricket team for a short, practice tour before participating in the Sharjah Cup Cricket Tournament but reported to the team management on Wednesday that he had developed the back-trouble once again, which had been bothering him for quite some time.

England team's media relations officer Brian Murgatroyd told Dawnon Wednesday that after this unfortunate development, a replacement for Michael Atherton requested from the cricket management back home.
