Bangladesh v New Zealand, 2013-14

Wisden's review of the second ODI, Bangladesh v New Zealand, 2013-14

15-Apr-2014
At Mirpur, October 31, 2013 (day/night). Second one-day international: Bangladesh won by 40
runs. Bangladesh completed only their fourth one day series win over a top-eight nation, and their second over New Zealand. It was the Bangladeshi bowlers who did the job, after their batsmen failed to reach 250. Tamim Iqbal's 58 proved the lone half-century of the match, and his unusual restraint forewarned the New Zealanders about the slowness of the wicket. Mushfiqur Rahim's ploy of using pace and spin with the two new balls worked nicely, with Mashrafe bin Mortaza producing two excellent spells. Anton Devcich and Elliott fell in consecutive deliveries as New Zealand lurched to 45-3, and Sohag Gazi tempted Ross Taylor to hole out.
MoM: Sohag Gazi. One-day international debut: Shamsur Rahman (Bangladesh).
