Barbadian businessman Dr Roland Toppin appears to have landed the top job as chief executive officer of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), but it's not time to make the announcement just yet.
Media reports yesterday indicated that the head of Duraplast was chosen to take over the job which has been vacant since Roger Brathwaite, another Bajan, resigned from the hot seat in late April.
Toppin said yesterday he was aware of the reports and that he was being considered for the job, but felt it premature to make a comment.
The Saturday Sun made some investigations and it appeared a leaked report could have caused some problems, leaving several people involved in the matter quite uncomfortable. It is now not sure if Toppin will accept the position.
All will be revealed soon. The board's president, Ken Gordon, has said a public announcement should be issued in the next ten days.
