Chetan Sharma scored 148 off 355 deliveries to help Delhi gain the
first innngs lead against Haryana in the North Zone U-22 tournament
match at Gurgaon on Sunday. Delhi gained five points and Haryana took
three.
Batting first, Delhi scored 320 off 127.5 overs, opener Sharma
smashing 16 boundaries and one six. He was well supported by half
centuries by Sandeep Rana (55) and Sonu Vaid (62). Saurabh Virmani
bagged four for 94 and Deepak Sain picked up three for 75.
In reply, Haryana were bowled out for 261 in 117 overs. Puru Singh and
Amit Suman picked up three wickets each for 43 and 71 runs
respectively. Opener Praveen Sharma (48) played a patient 90-ball
innings. Anuj Sharma (56) and Pradeep Sahu (55) made valiant half
centuries but could not prevent Delhi from taking the first innings
lead. Delhi batted out the second innings for 22 overs scoring 95 for
three.
