Cricket Festival raises HK$32,411 for the Make A Wish Foundation

Hong Kong: Organisers of last week's Ichor International & Chesterton Petty Hong Kong Invitational Cricket Festival 2005 announced today that the fundraising efforts at the tournament had raised a total of HK$32,411.60 (US$4,200 approx) for the Hong Kong children's charity, the Make A Wish Foundation.
"We're so glad that the Festival has been able to give something back to the community and contribute to the Make A Wish Foundation," said Tournament Director and Chairman of Lamma Cricket Club, Mr Brad Tarr.
"We had a record 34 teams at the Festival and the cricketers were really moved by the work of the Foundation and it goes to show in the impressive amount raised at the tournament," Mr Tarr continued.
"On behalf of the Make A Wish Foundation I'd like to say a big 'thank you' to the organisers of the Cricket Festival for giving us the opportunity to raise funds for our work with sick children in Hong Kong," said Ms Cindy Ho, Marketing Manager of Make A Wish Hong Kong.
"Also, we are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to the fundraising efforts over the Festival weekend, and especially to our volunteers who set up stalls at the event," Ms Ho continued.
