David Andrews has been appointed coach of the Maharashtra senior team. Andrews, who was in charge of the Maharashtra Under-19 team, will replace former national selector Surendra Bhave, who has moved on to coach Haryana.
Bhave, who had taken over from Dermot Reeve midway through the 2012-13 season, guided Maharashtra to their first Ranji Tropy final in 21 years this January, where they lost to Karnataka.
Maharashtra U-19 made successive finals of the Cooch Behar Trophy under Andrews in 2011-12 and 2012-13. They went down to Mumbai the first time and overcame the same opposition on the second occasion. He will be the fourth foreign coach of the team in recent times following Darren Holder, Shaun Williams and Reeve.
