The declaration of a state of emergency in Pakistan has cast a shadow over the national team's tour of India, but is not expected to result in the tour being called off.
The Pakistan Cricket Board is yet to come out with an official statement - that could happen after the country's president, General Pervez Musharraf, addresses the nation later on Saturday - but a senior official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said the series would not be affected at all because it is taking place in India.
The Pakistan team is in New Delhi, having arrived in India on November 1, and is expected to leave for Guwahati tomorrow. "As far as we are concerned, we have not received any instructions from the PCB," Ehsan Malik, the team's media manager, told PTI. "We are continuing to do what we have been doing."
