England finish on a high

Another poor performance from most of the West Indies batsmen and England duly took advantage to win the fourth and final Test at Chester-le-Street to clinch a 3-0 series win and leave themselves in good heart ahead of next month's series with India

Another poor performance from most of the West Indies batsmen and England duly took advantage to win the fourth and final Test at Chester-le-Street to clinch a 3-0 series win and leave themselves in good heart ahead of next month's series with India.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul did his best yet again but one man was not enough to prevent them from slipping to another defeat and they will probably be glad the series is over.
England, by contrast, should be in good heart. Ok, so there are still problems to iron out, but generally things are on the up and Michael Vaughan's men are likely to be favourites to beat India when the series begins next month.
Before that, there is a one-day series to be played, however, and we will have a full preview of the series and individual matches as soon as the prices are released.
