Glamorgan`s National League victory over Essex at Cardiff yesterday was their largest
ever in terms of runs in the competition.
The 178 run defeat of Essex surpassed their 166 run victory over Durham at Colwyn Bay in 1993.
As far as wickets are concerned, Glamorgan have twice recorded 10 wicket victories in the
Sunday/National League competition - against Warwickshire at Edgbaston in 1988 and against
Surrey at The Oval, 1993.
Looking at all one day games, yesterday`s victory over Essex was also a record against a county
team - their previous largest run margin was their 167 run demolition of Staffordshire in the
1989 Nat West Trophy match at Cardiff.
However, their record winning margin in all one games remains their 217 run
victory over the Combined Universities in the 1995 Benson and Hedges tie at Cardiff.
