Ground closures in Wellington cricket for weekend

Councils in the Wellington area have closed all grass wickets with the exception of Linden Park, and Alex Moore Park.

Certain artificials have been made available. Due to these closures the only cricket to be played this Saturday will be Pearce Cup, Hazlett Trophy and Senior Women, Wellington club cricket administrator Ian Smith said today.

The revised draw for Saturday is as follows:

Pearce Cup (11.00) Upper Valley v Eastern Suburbs,Delaney 2A, R Kinsey & E Watkin ; Onslow v Petone/Riverside, Linden, B Ashton & M Kessell ; Naenae v North City , Fraser 4A, S Black & P Chapman ; Karori v Taita , Alex Moore, A Newton & B Zlatopolsky.

Hazlett Trophy ( 11.00) : Wainuiomata v University, Fraser 5A, K Cross & D Sinha ; Eastern Suburbs v Upper Valley,Churton, G McAlister & D Rodrigues ; Hutt v Johnsonville, Fraser 6A, R Alexander & B Hannah; North City v Collegians, BenBurn, R Alexander & B Hannah;

Senior Women ( 12.30) :Collegians v Taita, Te Whiti 5A,; Johnsonville v Onslow, Fraser 7A.

All other grades will start on Saturday 1 November with 2 day games in 2 day grades
