Hong Kong got its title defense back on track with a rousing 133-run thrashing of Oman at the ACC Women's Twenty20 Championships being played in Kuwait.
Winning the toss and batting first, Hong Kong's captain, Neisha Pratt and opening partner Keenu Gill batted through the innings in a near faultless partnership that yielded 178 runs - a record for Hong Kong women. Neisha led the way with 88 not out from 63 balls, including 9 boundaries while Keenu hit 58 not out from 57 balls including 6 boundaries.
In reply, the Oman women had had no answers, especially after Mariko Hill knocked the top of their batting order with 3-7 in her four over spell. Connie Wong also picked up an early wicket and from 13-4 after 6.2 overs, Oman never registered much of a challenge. Oman's remaining batters did little more than occupy the crease and they could only muster a total of 45-5 from their 20 overs, with Alvina Tam picking up a late wicket.
Neisha Pratt was named Player of the Match for her superb innings.
