Hussain, Stewart and Caddick rested for the National League games

England coach Duncan Fletcher has rested the England skipper Nasser Hussain, Alec Stewart and Andy Caddick from playing for Essex, Surrey and Somerset respectively for the National League games at Colchester, The Oval and Worcester. As these three are part of the centrallycontracted England players, the England national coach has the right to withdraw them from the domestic schedule. All the rest of the contracted players are free to appear for the National League games
