India women again too strong for England

Caroline Atkins and Arran Thompson, England's record breaking opening partners in the test match against India last week, again put England into a strong position in the fourth one-day international at Mumbai today

Caroline Atkins and Arran Thompson, England's record breaking opening partners in the test match against India last week, again put England into a strong position in the fourth one-day international at Mumbai today. However, the rest of the batting order could not respond and England fell from 104-2 to 142 all out in 47.5 overs.
England have struggled throughout the tour to deal with the experienced spin of David, and she blighted the England middle order again, taking four wickets for 15 runs from 9.5 overs.
A feature of the one-day series has been India's ability consistently to produce strong batting partnerships in the top order, and despite two early wickets from Lucy Pearson, the India Captain, Anjum Chopra, saw her side home today with 5 wickets to spare. She also took the player-of-the-match award for her attacking 49 not out.
The teams move to Pune for the final ODI in the five match series on Thursday 24th January.
