Maina Kamanda, Kenya's sports minister, has promised his ministry will donate KS500,000 (approx. $7,150) to the national team whose World Cup squad leave on Thursday for the Caribbean.
Kamanda visited the team on Friday at the Aga Khan Sports Club in Nairobi, handing Steve Tikolo, the captain, Kenya's national flag.
Meanwhile Thomas Odoyo, the Kenya allrounder, insists his side aren't under any pressure - especially following their victory in the World Cricket League three weeks ago.
"I think we're not under any pressure to win in West Indies," he told The Standard, "because we've already won our World Cup. Ours is just to go there and put up a good performance. The young players who have not been at the stage before should not get excited just go there and play good cricket."
Kenya's opening warm-up match is against the hosts, West Indies, at Trelawny Stadium in Trinidad on March 5.
