The MCC suffered an embarrassing - and rare - defeat at a special general meeting last week when a motion tabled by members to check the actions of the committee was passed by 4121 votes to 2741.
The action came after a row over the club reducing seating available to members. The members insisted that the club had to consult them first, a claim disputed by the MCC.
The MCC has formed a working party who will interpret the results of the motion passed by the membership and bring a recommendation to the annual general meeting in May 2008.
