Andy Moles, the Kenyan coach, has quashed rumours linking him with a move to Scotland. He expressed his dedication to Kenyan cricket, and denied visiting Scotland, but said that he had been in touch with Scottish cricket authorities over phone.
Moles, who took over as Kenyan coach in June 2003, said to thatscricket.com, "I am fully committed to Kenyan cricket. I am here to prepare the national team to play Uganda in the ICC Intercontinental Cup."
Kenya reached the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Cup last year, but it is an open secret that the cricketing structure has been seriously affected by infighting and a lack of sponsors.
However, Moles was looking ahead, and spoke about the importance of getting a team together before their encounter against Uganda early next month. "We have no time left on our side," he said. "We need to start immediate preparations to face Uganda in three weeks' time."
