New Zealand Cricket has signed a three-year sponsorship deal for its domestic Twenty20 tournament, the State Twenty20, which will now be called the HRV Cup, after the sponsor who are home ventilation specialists.
The tournament's profile has already increased with the addition of international players like Tillakaratne Dilshan, Owais Shah and Dimitri Mascarenhas. All New Zealand international players will also be available for the entire tournament that runs from January 2 to January 31. The winners of the HRV Cup will also have the added incentive of a place in the lucrative Champions League.
"We are already looking forward to what promises to be a fantastic first year of the HRV Cup," Justin Vaughan, the NZC chief executive, said. "With the likes of Vettori, McCullum, Ryder and Taylor and the rest of the New Zealand players set to feature this season, the competition to be the first winners of the HRV Cup will provide some fantastic cricket and superb entertainment."
