It is with regret that I have to announce the death (after a long illness) this morning, Sunday 20th February 2000, of Edward Kenneth (Ken) Ingman, aged 72 years.
Ken played in the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition for Bootle from 1955-1974 making 292 appearances as a wicket keeper, scoring 5473 runs at an average of 23.38 with a top score of 97 and claiming 364 victims, 261 of them caught and 103 stumped.
He represented Cheshire on 17 occasions between 1958 and 1964, scoring 130 runs and claiming 24 victims, 19 caught and 5 stumped.
Being involved in education, he was well known and respected throughout the country for his coaching of schoolboys in the game right through to England level and for his administrative abilities. He will be sadly missed by all involved in the game, a loss of a true friend and colleague.
We offer our condolences to his family.
