LAHORE, Dec 11: Dr Dan Kiesel has resigned from the post of
physiotherapist of the Pakistan Cricket team and it was accepted by
the PCB on Friday. Dan Kiesel developed differences with national
coach Javed Miandad which culminated in his resignation.
"I like to work with the Pakistan team and love to stay on in this
country, but I cannot allow anyone to interfere in my work," Dan
Kiesel told journalists at the Gaddafi Stadium.
When pressed to name the person who has been interfering in his work,
Dan Kiesel said that the team coach Javed Miandad was not satisfied
with his work and was trying to use his own techniques to treat the
injured players.
"Javed Miandad is a great cricketer, indeed, but he is neither a
physiotherapist nor a doctor," observed Dr Kiesel.
Dan Kiesel said that he was under contract to remain with the
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) till the next World Cup, but after
resignation he would wait to be relieved from the responsibilities.
The PCB, in its official Press release, has requested Dan Kiesel to
continue till the end of the series against Zimbabwe or till his
replacement was handed over the charge of the team.
The Press release also indicated that the resignation of Dan Keisel
was brought before for consideration in the last Council meeting on
Dec 8, which accepted that. Dan Kiesel said that the players had not
been taking care of themselves and not continuing exercises during
off season.
"Whenever the cricketers have to do extensive exercises during
national training, they became unfit", Dr Kiesel said.
