PAKISTAN v NEW ZEALAND 1990-91

At Peshawar, November 4

15-Apr-1992
At Peshawar, November 4. Pakistan won by eight wickets. Toss: Pakistan. After White and Crowe had put on 50 for the first wicket, Waqar Younis shattered the New Zealand innings by taking five wickets for just 11 runs. First he removed White and Rutherford with consecutive deliveries, and although Greatbatch prevented the hat-trick, he did not last long. Nor did Patel, and it was left to Bradburn and the tail, wagging against the spinners, to set some kind of target. By the time Saeed Anwar was out in the nineteenth over of Pakistan's innings, the match was as good as won. He had hit Watson for three successive fours in his opening over, and in all he hit seven fours and two sixes. Ramiz Raja had five fours in his unbeaten 50 from 75 balls.
Man of the Match: Saeed Anwar.
