Badulla esplanade to go for turf wicket very soon

At a cost of over 5 lakhs
The Mayor of Badulla Mr. M.D. Hemachandra inaugurated the work in
connection with the turf Wicket in Badulla which is expected to cost
around fifty lakhs granted by the Board of Control for Cricket in Sri
Lanka.
The work has already commenced and is expected to be completed by the
year ends. Three turf wickets and a matting wicket have been designed
at the Badulla esplanade. Side Screens, a new score board, levelling
of the outfield, pavilion etc. have been designed under this
programme and once the work is completed cricket fans in Badulla will
have an opportunity to witness foreign teams in action in Badulla.
The President of the Badulla Cricket Association Mr. R.M.U. Ratnayake
and his officials and the general public including the Mayor of
Badulla Mr. Hemachandra have thanked the president of the Board of
Control for Cricket in Sri Lanka Mr. Thilanga Sumathipala for his
action to construct a turf wicket in Badulla.
Over thirty teams to vie for Mayor's Cup

SIX-A-SIDE cricket tournament for the Badulla Mayor's Cup will be
conducted during latter part of this month organised by the Badulla
District Cricket Association.
According to the Secretary of the BDCA Mr. R. M. Gunasekera, over
thirty teams were expected to participate in this tournament. Clubs
willing to participate are requested to communicate with the
Secretary C/o Badulla Library on or before 15th of this month.
