120 concrete pitches constructed
As part of its infrastructure development work, the Sri Lanka Cricket
Board's national development committee has identified the importance
of constructing 120 concrete pitches throughout the country.
The constructed concrete wickets in the following locations were open
last Sunday by Cricket Board president Thilanga Sumathipala, who is
also the chairman of the national development committee, vice
president Anuruddha Polonowita and development director Malcolm
Perera.
Test cricketers Kumara Dharmasena and Ravindra Pushpakumara were also
present for the opening which took place at Anuradhapura district -
St. Joseph's, Kakirawa public grounds, Habarana Central College
grounds, and at Polonnaruwa district - Rajarata MV, Kawdulla MV,
Polonnaruwa public grounds and Thopawewa Central College grounds.
