Josephians pile up 300/8

A superb knock of 118 (11 fours, 4 sixes, 177 mts) by Ian Daniels
helped St. Joseph's College, Colombo to run up a massive 300 for 8
wickets declared in their Coca Cola Bottlers Trophy inter-school
cricket match against Dharmaraja College, Kandy which began at Lake
View grounds, Kandy yesterday. The match will be continued today at
9.30 a.m.
Josephians batted very aggressive and scored at an overall rate of
nearly five runs per over. Their score of 300 was compiled in 265
minutes. At close Rajans had replied with 44 for no loss and the
match appears to be heading for a draw unless Josephians make an
early breakthrough this morning.

118, G. Van Sandan 21 not out, S. Gunawardena 53, D. Perera 43, C.
Wickremanayake 2 for 26, K. Weerasuriya 2 for 44).
Dharmaraja College 44 for no loss in 19.1 overs (H. Basnayake 25 not
out, S. Ranasinghe 15 not out).

A patient knock of 69 not out with 8 fours by Subodha Jayawardana
helped St. Anne's College, Kurunegala to recover to total 140 for 7
in their inter-school cricket match against St. Anthony's College,
Katugastota which began at Katugastota yesterday. The match will be
continued today at 9.30 a.m.
Three hours of play was lost due to rain.
