Rain prevents decisions in limited-over tourney games

Anil Rideegamanagedera's fast knock of 67 in only 62 deliveries was
the bright spot in their BCCSL's Limited-Over cricket match with
Singha SC which ended in a no-decision due to rain at Maitland Place
yesterday. NCC were all out for 225 in 49.3 overs but Sinha were
unable to bat.
Rideegamanagedera's knock included seven boundaries and a six and
together with Hashan Tillekeratne (41) put on 109 runs for the fourth
wicket.
Another bright spot came from Singha SC's right-arm off-spinner Rail
Pushpakumara who finished with the figures of 6 for 14 in just 5.4
overs.

Sebastianites 176
SSC vs Sebastianites game also in the BCCSL limited-over tournament
at Haitland Place yesterday ended in a no-decision due to the
inclement Meather.
The Sebastianites were all out for 176 in 47 overs and SSC could not
bat due to the rain.
Colts win on faster run-rate
Colts raced to victory in the division one limited-over tournament
match against Matara Sports Club on a faster scoring rate at Havelock
Park yesterday.
After Colts made 240 in 49.3 overs, while Matara Sports Club made 73
for 2 wickets in 28 overs.

Nuwan Priyankara 134
A hard-hit century by Nuwan Priyankara - 134 which included five
sixes and 14 fours, was the highlight of the division one segment 'B'
limited over cricket match between Negombo Cricket Club and Kalutara
Town Club which ended in a 'no-decision' at Negombo yesterday.
Negombo CC made 265 for 7 wickets in 50 overs, while Kalutara Town
Club made 31 for 3 wickets in 11 overs when the rain came down and
put an end to the match.

Negombo CC: 265 for 7 wkts in 50 overs (Nuwan Priyankara 134, Mevan
Fernando 57, Lakmal Fernando 22, Ruwan Fernando 20 not out, Ranga

Marage 118
A fighting century (118) by Raddoluwa MV's D.Marage was the
high-light of the drawn inter-school cricket encounter against Zahira
played at Maradana last Thursday.
Raddoluwa MV replying to Zahira's first innings total of 243 were 85
for 6 at one stage when lefthander Marage produced his match saving
innings which had 19 fours and a six.

CCC 205
Another no-decision due to rain was in the game between Bloomfield
and CCC also in a BCCSL Limited-Over game at Reid Avenue yesterday.
CCC made 205 in 47.2 overs, while Bloomfield replied with 2 for no
loss when the skies opened up.

P. W. Perera trophy for Ananda-Dharmaraja match
Remember P. W. Perera - the former Ananda College and Dharmaraja
College cricket coach? Well, the school authorities have decided to
get up a trophy for competition between Ananda and Dharmaraja in P.
W. Perera's name so that he will be remembered forever.
P. W. Perera also coached D. S. Senanayake College.
At 81 years, he is still at it coaching Ananda under 15 and under 13
cricketers.
Thilina Kandamby - outstanding Ananda sportsman
Thilina Kandamby will receive the award for the most outstanding
Ananda College sportsman at the Ananda Colours Night that will be
held on December 10th at the Kularatne Hall at 5.30 pm.
Kandamby represented the country at the under 19 World Cricket Cup in
South Africa and also toured Hong Kong with the under 17 cricket
team.
96 will receive colours while six outstanding sportsmen will receive
the Ananda Padma Award. They are Thilina Kandamby (cricket),Sameera
Ekanayake, and twins Eranga Gunasena and Eranka Gunasena
(gymnastics), Udara Jayamaha and Chamara Samaranayake (athletics).
Minister of Samurdhi, Youth Affairs and Sports S.B. Dissanayake will
be the chief guest.
