LBW decisions could soon be made with the help of technology, if an experiment in South Africa proves successful.
Technology is currently used only to aid desisions on run-outs, stumpings and debatable boundaries, but the International Cricket Council today said that the role of technology is being investigated as a means of determining lbw decisions.
The United Cricket Board of South Africa will be using technology to assist with lbw decisions in their forthcoming season, and will report back to the ICC on progress.
The ICC would only consider using a system for lbw decisions if it was proven and available in all Test-playing countries.
