Respected WA and Australian umpire Terry Prue today announced his retirement after two decades with the Western Australian Cricket Association.
Prue (51) retires from all levels of umpiring after officiating in a WA record 54 Sheffield Shield/Pura Milk Cup matches.
"After 20 years in the game and having reached all of my goals, I thought the time was right," said Prue, who will stay involved in umpire education with the WACA.
He commenced umpiring with the WACA in 1980-81 and officiated in his maiden first-class match when WA played Pakistan in November 1983.
Prue joined the National Umpires Panel in 1988-89 and umpired his first Test match that season.
